  • Brownfields Workshop: Transforming Brownfields into Productive Community (February 3, 2006, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
    The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), aboutREMEDIATION.com, and the Canadian Brownfields Network are pleased to provide, as a part of FCM's 2006 Sustainable Communities National Conference and Trade Show, this informative and motivating workshop on brownfields redevelopment in Canada. The workshop will provide attendees with practical information on how to start the brownfields redevelopment process, and how to develop programs and policies that result in successful redevelopment projects.

  • Ontario Brownfields Knowledge Workshop Series: Building Capacity for Brownfields Redevelopment and Revitalization (February 23 - March 27 2006, Sudbury, Kingston, Sarnia/Lambton, and York Region)
    The Canadian Brownfields Network (CBN) and aboutREMEDIATION.com (AR) are pleased to host these informative and motivating workshops. Learn about and gain practical insight into brownfields redevelopment in Ontario, including new provincial regulations, how to plan and implement redevelopment projects, what tools are available, and successful case studies and approaches.

  • Environmental Assessment Reports - Qualification Of Submitters (January 4, 2006)
    Effective immediately, an appropriate Qualified Person (QP) as outlined under the Ministry Of Environment's Ontario Regulation 153/04, must sign all environmental assessments that are submitted to TSSA. The practitioners that are designated as QP's under the regulation are Professional Geoscientists, Professional Engineers, Professional Agrologists and Chartered Chemists.   • Breakfast Session
    Brownfields Assume Centre Stage (December 16, 2005)
    The Canadian Urban Institute presented, jointly with the Canadian Brownfields Network (CBN), a Special Roundtable Breakfast where the Honourable John Gerretsen, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, gave an update on planning reform and brownfields redevelopment.   • Government of Canada awards $1.560 million to the
    Centre d’excellence de Montréal en réhabilitation de sites (CEMRS)
    (November 24, 2005)
    The Honourable Jacques Saada, Minister of Canada Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Francophonie, today announced that the Centre d’excellence de Montréal en réhabilitation de sites (CEMRS) will receive $1.560 million to carry out a project aimed at finding technological solutions for the treatment of groundwater in Montréal's Technoparc district.
